HOW TO BREAK A LOSING STREAK
Meet Alex (this is just a made up story btw / entertainment and educational purposes), the gutsy bettor who faced a brutal losing streak, watching $10,000 shrink to a mere $7,000. But did Alex throw in the towel? Absolutely not! In fact, Alex flipped the script with a bankroll strategy that left everyone on the edge of their seats.
Phase 1: Facing the Brutal Truth
After a blunt reality check, Alex admitted to some questionable decisions leading to the losses which included:
Parlaying/ adding extra picks,
Betting while drinking/being out watching the game,
Over betting and
Betting without proper research / betting because he “had a feeling”
Phase 2: Sticking to his 2% Rule
Alex decided to stay disciplined and not ratchet up his unit sizes to “chase his losses”. Alex decided to keep to his 2% unit sizing
Phase 3: Putting the Plan to Work
No more degeneracy, if he won he would stick to his unit sizing and if he lost he would take it on the chin and not chase. Alex worked with experts to get their advice on different betting opportunities and he made sure there was reasoning other than a “feeling” for taking a bet!
The Reality:
If you do not do these 3 things a losing streak will bury you
Adjusting your game plan/models on betting
Sticking to your bankroll & being disciplined / not getting emotional. Again, never bet more than you can afford to lose!
Actually sticking to the plan and having an understanding it is a long-term/numbers game.
If you believe you are “unlucky” or “its fixed” you will always be a victim to your emotions rather than logic and reasoning which is required to win in the long run.
Anyone who acts like they have never faced a losing streak is 100% lying to you. Hopefully no one who reads this newsletter has to face a rough stretch of losses, but if you do… remember to take a deep breathe and remember that its part of the game!
